Travel Learning Experiences

Beginning in august 2019, the students of Elementary II will kick off each school year by participating in a 3 day/2 night overnight experience at Red Oak Camp. One of the most important pieces of any Montessori classroom is to build community with one another. At Red Oak Camp, students and teachers will participate in a variety of activities that will test boundaries and strengthen relationships. The group will be under the direction of the staff at Red Oak, but will also do some activities led by Ratner teachers. Students will also have a chance to swim and experience other camp-like activities.

The required packet of forms for this experience can be found below.

Students in Grades 7 and 8 typically alternate their travel each year between Philadelphia/Washington, D.C and a travel experience that focuses on science and conservation. In April 2019, the students will travel to Tampa, Florida with WorldStrides, an educational travel experience provider with an exceptional reputation. We are excited to provide a new and in-depth science and conservation experience for our 7th and 8th graders this year.
