Description: Do you love watching TV? Movies? Sports shows? News and interview programs? TikTok videos? Ever wonder how they are made? TV & Film Club is the place to start! This will open the door to a world of “behind the scenes” techniques and tricks to create professional videos. You will learn about writing for film/video, directing actors and on-air talent, effective camera angles and coverage, lighting, sound, set design, prop use as well as editing in post production. TV & Film Club will encompass the production of a short video; student-written and directed. If there is interest, we will cover the journalistic component that will include interview techniques, writing for on-camera talent, news gathering and social engagement. Those interested in on-camera talent and actors are encouraged to participate as well as tech people. Ideas and pre-production for the 2026 Ratner School 8th grade graduation video will also be explored.
**Help set up and be the first to use The Ratner School’s State of the Art video production studio and edit suite.
Please note: This club is 4 sessions - 2 hours each, for a total of 8 hours.
