Primary School
Grades 1  ̶  4

The Lillian and Betty Ratner Day School's educational programs are designed with the whole child in mind. Our approach offers a combination of individual, small and large group learning activities. Reading, writing and math are integrated throughout all subject areas to provide a cohesive program that successfully prepares students academically and socially.

Reading comprehension, problem solving and communication skills are further enhanced through an increasingly demanding curriculum in an environment that boasts a small and effective student/teacher ratio. Language arts, math, science, social studies and fine arts are made meaningful through a variety of field trips to Cleveland's many cultural and educational institutions.
Middle School
Grades 5  ̶  8

Our accelerated and arts-infused core curriculum readies the adolescent child to think critically and creatively while exploring new ideas, values, and concepts to develop his/her fullest academic, social and emotional potential.

Research clearly indicates the academic benefits associated with our two-year blended sequence. Within this model, students form close and lasting relationships with teachers and peers. Small and large group lessons allow teachers to continue to focus on the unique talents of each student.

The Ratner School's Middle School offers a core curriculum which includes: math, science, language arts, social studies, visual arts, music, current events, world cultures, Spanish or Judaic Studies, service learning and travel experiences.

The Ratner School's Middle School curriculum stresses academic excellence with a proven track record of success in preparing students for the rigors of high school.

"Our son's growth in maturity, his dedication to scholarship, and the confidence he gained in Ratner's small class setting served him well getting him ready for the demands of high school."
